Choose what’s best for you!

Remember – the first step is always the hardest. Start by implementing just one, five or more frugal living tips. Let frugality become a second nature to you. Then come back, review some more of these best ways to save money and increase your savings!

It’s a Simple Equation

The amount of free money you have is the output of this very simple equation. On the one hand you have the input, i.e. your income. On the other hand you have the output, being your expenses. The outcome of subtracting your expenses from your income is the amount of free money you have.

Income – Expenses = Free Money

You have only two ways to increase the amount of your free money:
The first is of course, to earn more money. Well, I guess that if you could do that – you would. But for most of us, the amount of control we have over this side of the equation is almost zero.

That being said, what’s left under our control is the other side of the equation – our expenses. This is what this site is all about. I will provide you hundreds of tips, techniques and ideas to reduce your cost of living, thus increasing the amount of free money left.

Personally, I’ve implemented about three quarters of these tips and techniques. As I’ve mentioned before, not every tip suits everyone. Not even me. But still, I’m giving myself a free hand to recommend tips which I didn’t adopt personally, because they may suit others.

Some people may argue that a certain tip is not worth the trouble, if the annual saving is only $200, $300 or even more.

Well, let me say that I don’t subscribe to this point of view. True, some of these tips will save you just that. But combine a few, and you’ve got a considerable sum of money saved.

The Green Point of View

Although not my main driving power for implementing these ideas and techniques,I view myself as an Environmental Conscious person.

It’s o.k. to implement a few or more of these money saving tips just because you want to save money. But doesn’t it make you feel better to know that by saving electricity, water, gas and fuel you are actually doing something good for the benefit of our planet? Actually, I do much more for the environment than just saving water and
electricity, but this site focuses on the things that have a direct impact on your pocket.

My “beacon”, so to speak is an old Indian saying I heard somewhere:

“We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors,
We borrow it from our Children”

So, get yourself a cup of coffee, relax, and start leafing through my Money Saving Tips. Pick one, pick a few, and start saving your money and the environment.
